Hey guys! This is the first time I'm writing a short story for my blog! I'm so excited! I'll be using a writing prompt I found on Pinterest to start of this short story!
Prompt: Your entire life, you've been told you're deathly allergic to bees, you've always had people protecting you from them, be it your mother or a hired hand. Today, one slips through and lands on your shoulder. You hear a tiny voice say "Your majesty, what are your orders?"

This will be really short, it's just one scene, and mostly dialogue.
My entire life, people have warned me to stay away from bees, to make sure to never get too close, because if they stung me, I'd die. People have been protecting me from bees for 15 years. And yet, here I am, gaping at the little bug that just landed on my shoulder. I couldn't believe it, I had to be hallucinating. It's impossible for bees to talk, right? I truly must be going crazy, if I actually believe that a bee just addressed me, as "Your majesty", no less. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that it just asked me what my orders are. So yeah, either I've gone crazy or I just travelled to a parallel dimension. I hope it's the latter, because that'd be pretty cool. But, as cool as that would be, it's also very improbable. So, now, let's talk about the fact that this is the first time anything really crazy has ever happened to me, meaning, it's very unlikely that I'm suddenly going crazy. What is happening here?! "Your majesty, did you hear me?" The tiny voice questioned. I tried answering, but the little bee just stared at me. After a few minutes, it seemed to understand what was happening here. "Bees don't understand the human language." It explained, as if I should already know this. "You need to speak the language of insects for us to understand you." This was crazy, I had to be dreaming. "Okay," I said, as I tried again, "Can you understand me now?" The bee seemed to smile. "You got it! I'm Nectar. I'm supposed to be a worker bee, but Mother Nature requested that the Queen assigned a few of us to search for you, once you came of age." I looked a the bee. "Mother Nature? That's an actual person? And why would she be looking for me? Are bees the only insects I can speak to?" Nectar frowned at me. "Yeah, Mother Nature is an actual person, she's looking for you because you're her daughter, of course! Why else?" I let out a disbelieving laugh. "Why else?! How am I supposed to know? And what do you mean 'daughter'?” Nectar frowned again. She shook her minuscule head. “Slow down with the questions, or else I won’t ever be able to answer all of them! No, bees are not the only insects you can speak to, you can speak to practically all of them. You can also speak to animals. I’m not sure about plants, though, I think you’ll be able to speak to plants once you take your place as Mother Nature’s heir.” I gasped at her. “Her heir?” I squeaked out. “Yes! Don’t look so surprised! You are her daughter!” Nectar laughed. "Now come along, I have to bring you back to the Hive of 1324 Rocky Road, the Queen wants to meet you before she sends you off to Mother Nature!" I followed her, asking more questions as we went. "The Hive of 1324 Rocky Road?" She buzzed around my ear. "Yup, think of the addresses like kingdoms. My Queen rules the kingdom of 1324 Rocky Road, then another queen rules the kingdom of 1325 Rocky Road, and so on." I continued walking, thinking about other questions I could ask. "You said I would meet your Queen, will she come out of the hive?" Nectar looked at me, clearly offended. "Of course not! You will be going into the Hive!" I stopped short at that. "Into the hive? How am I supposed to do that? It's not like I can just suddenly shrink, then fly in to meet her." Nectar buzzed angrily. "Of course not, you'll just have to shapeshift into a bee. You do know how to shapeshift, right?" The look on my face must've said it all, because she soon exlaimed, "I can't believe it! Mother Nature's own daughter doesn't even know how to shapeshift! It's quite easy, try it now, so that we know you're ready once we get to the Hive, so that we don't keep the Queen waiting. Just think of a moment of change in your life, maybe you moved to another house? It has to be something that affected your life a lot, not just a new haircut, or new clothes. Then, you want to concentrate on what you want to shapeshift into." I try thinking of eighth grade promotion, it was a pretty big change, going from middle school to high school, then, when I can finally see the day clearly, I think of bees, I think of everything I know about bees, until I can feel my body shrink, then shift, stopping only when finally wore the body of a bee. "Good job! Just follow me now, I'll bring you to the Hive." Nectar told me, when the shift was over. I tried nodding, which wasn't that easy, considering I didn't really have a neck. Nectar's voice sounded much deeper now that we were the same size, but it was still pretty high. We continued flying, it took us a while to finally get to the hive, but we eventually did, and quite honestly, the whole experience was very fascinating. That was the day everything changed, I stopped being scared of bees, I became heir to one of the most powerful forces of the universe, and I learned a lot about me, and my past. That day was the day I became, the Daughter of the Earth...
